Records, 1853-1883.

Consists primarily of bills and receipts for various aspects of the wheelwright and blacksmith business. There are also a fair number of records documenting building construction and what seems to be a series of real estate investments. The last box contains two hand-drawn maps, some published lithographs (in poor condition), some wallpaper scraps, and a number of student notebooks kept by sons of John Scott: William, David, and Joseph.

Scott & Hutchinson was a Philadelphia, PA business partnership formed by John Scott and John Hutchinson. They were wheelwrights and blacksmiths. The business also apparently included making, or at least selling, wagons, carts, and wheelbarrows. The business was located on Gray's Ferry Road.
